📰 News we're reading

• New concourse renovations opening at Sea-Tac airport this week (kitsapsun.com) — SeaTac residents flying soon will see big changes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as the overhauled Concourse C opens June 11 with three new floors and a much larger footprint. The $399 million project adds restaurants, retail, and a new Alaska Airlines lounge between security checkpoints 3 and 4, ready just in time for World Cup crowds.

• Seattle data center ban heads to Mayor Wilson's desk (kuow.org) — If you live or work in the SeaTac area served by Seattle City Light, expect higher power rates for data centers later this summer so regular customers don’t shoulder new infrastructure costs. Seattle has just passed a one-year moratorium on new data centers while it studies their impacts, and local AI critics are pushing for broader statewide rules on fairness and accountability.

• Seattle World Cup: What to know about riding light rail, buses, ferries (bellinghamherald.com) — If you’re heading from SeaTac or other south-end neighborhoods to World Cup matches at Lumen Field, Sound Transit wants you exiting at Stadium Station and walking about a mile to the gates. Expect packed light rail trains, rerouted buses, and heavy traffic downtown, with special shuttles, Sounder trains, and ferries all adjusted to move huge soccer crowds efficiently.
