Suspect sought after brandishing knife at boater, Coast Guard in Seattle (komonews.com) — Seattle police and the U.S. Coast Guard are still searching for a suspect who allegedly pulled a knife on a boat owner in Fauntleroy Cove and then on Coast Guard personnel during a chase Tuesday afternoon. After fleeing in a dinghy and being herded toward Elliott Bay Marina, the suspect beached the boat and escaped into nearby woods, prompting a K-9 search that has yet to locate him.

Seattle Education Association set to vote on tentative agreement for a new contract (kiro7.com) — Seattle Public Schools teachers are set to vote Friday evening on a tentative three-year contract that averted a strike and kept the first day of school on track. The deal includes 9% salary increases over three years plus step raises, and aims to improve special education caseloads for most students with IEPs, with final approval still needing a school board vote if ratified.

From memories to festival change @ Fauntleroy Community Association's September 2026 meeting (westseattleblog.com) — Fauntleroy neighbors in West Seattle heard updates on crime trends, earthquake preparedness, and big changes coming to the October 18 Fauntleroy Fall Festival, including a new afternoon time and layout. Walmart to pay nearly $120K to Seattle gig workers after settling alleged labor violations (kiro7.com) — Seattle's Office of Labor Standards has secured nearly $120,000 in payments for 413 local Walmart Spark Delivery gig workers after alleging the company violated the city's App-Based Worker Minimum Payment Ordinance. Worker advocates say the settlement shows Seattle's labor laws and enforcement can help app-based drivers recover missing pay and ensure clearer records of what they're owed.
