• West Seattle community fundraising to help preserve Alki Beach's Statue of Liberty (komonews.com) — Neighbors in West Seattle are raising $5,000 to repair and protect the beloved Statue of Liberty replica at Alki Beach, as its pedestal is cracking and seams are failing. The Alki Community Council, working with Seattle Parks and Recreation, hopes to complete the preservation work by early spring 2027 and will use extra donations to replenish the statue's dwindling maintenance fund.
