• SR 20 North Cascades Highway: Week 12 Update (lakechelannow.com) — Sedro-Woolley’s Trimaxx Construction has been working seven days a week since May to repair major washout damage on SR 20, helping move the North Cascades Highway toward an expected June 19 reopening. Crews are finishing paving, guardrail, striping, and erosion control so travelers can again use this key route in time for the Juneteenth holiday. 
• Local gymnast retires after placing first at regional competition (goskagit.com) — A recent Sedro-Woolley High School graduate, Hailey Johnson, has wrapped up a decade of gymnastics by winning first place all-around at a regional Level 8 meet. Training out of Morrison Gymnastics in Mount Vernon, she’s become a role model for younger athletes and now plans to pursue a future in radiology while staying connected to the gym community.
• Anacortes council approves transportation plan, talks World Cup art installation (goskagit.com) — Sedro-Woolley is one of five Skagit cities getting oversized World Cup-themed name letters through a countywide art project funded by a Seattle Foundation grant. The story centers on Anacortes’ installation and council actions, including a new transportation plan and an agreement to treat contaminated water from the Whitmarsh landfill cleanup.
