• GCFD 7 asking voters to consider EMS Levy increase amid rise in call volume (tri-cityherald.com) — Soap Lake‑area residents will vote in November on doubling Grant County Fire District 7’s EMS levy, which would cost about $75 a year for a $300,000 home and fund two EMS positions plus an additional ambulance. With EMS calls now the vast majority of responses and a key federal grant ending, officials say the increase is needed to avoid slower response times and reduced service.
