UWT Selects Developmental Partner for Housing and Dining Project (southsoundbiz.com) — The University of Washington Tacoma has chosen Maslow's Campus Communities to develop long‑awaited on‑campus student housing and a traditional dining hall, aiming to add space for about 500 more residents. With architects and contractors now on board, the project enters design and negotiation phases, targeting a late‑2029 opening that could significantly change student life and downtown activity.
   

2. Washington upcoming events Jun 08 (lemonwire.com) — Tacoma residents have a packed week ahead, with Tacoma Rainiers home games at Cheney Stadium, comedy shows at Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club, and concerts at Emerald Queen Casino and Pantages Theater. The statewide roundup highlights dates, times, and venues so you can quickly plan outings in Tacoma and around Washington from June 8–14.
   

3. Suspicious objects found during home renovation turn out to be historic military rounds (local12.com) — Tacoma police and their bomb squad were called to a local home under renovation after workers discovered suspicious objects that turned out to be World War II–era, armor‑piercing tank rounds without explosives. The Army removed the 23‑pound steel shells, and authorities are urging residents to leave any suspected military items alone and call 911 so trained technicians can handle them safely.
   

4. Puyallup officer shoots, wounds man during domestic violence call (seattletimes.com) — A man was critically injured and taken to a Tacoma hospital after a Puyallup police officer shot him when he allegedly charged with a metal baton. Tacoma Police Department’s investigations unit is now leading the probe, alongside the state’s independent investigations office, into the domestic-violence-related encounter and the serious charges involved.
