Celebrating National Library Week and the Card Catalog (loc.gov) ā Tumwaterās Washington State Library is one of 56 sites nationwide now hosting a repurposed Library of Congress card catalog, turned into an interactive information kiosk. Each drawer highlights a different Library of Congress program with descriptions and QR codes, helping local patrons connect Tumwaterās library to a vast national collection during National Library Week and beyond.

5. Major update about layoffs at Timberland libraries announced. Here's the latest (theolympian.com) ā Timberland Regional Library, headquartered in Tumwater, has dramatically reduced its planned layoffs, saving 36 of 44 involuntary positions after reworking its budget. Eight probationary branch assistants will still lose their jobs in May, and 17 voluntary separations remain, while leaders warn a future levy lid lift will likely be needed to avoid deeper cuts or possible branch closures.
