• Yakima police seeking help to identify reckless motorcyclist and passenger (yaktrinews.com) — Police say a motorcyclist with a passenger sped dangerously through Yakima and into Union Gap, riding on sidewalks, into oncoming lanes, and reportedly reaching 100 mph before escaping onto I-82. Officers, who limited pursuit because of safety concerns, are asking anyone who can identify the rider or passenger to contact Yakima police, a request that directly includes Union Gap residents.
   

• Newhouse Votes to Secure Funding to Meet America's Infrastructure, Housing Demands (realestaterama.com) — Union Gap is in line for $2 million in federal funding to build a key roundabout and intersection upgrades for the Regional Beltway Connector, improving safety and freight movement near I-82 and U.S. 97. The broader bill also backs airport, bridge, and road projects across Central Washington, aiming to ease traffic, support agriculture, and modernize critical transportation infrastructure.
