Disability Action Center enters final stretch of Wilfong Wellness Center project, begins community fundraising initiative (wvnews.com) — Fairmont’s Disability Action Center is nearing completion of its new Wilfong Wellness Center and is turning to local residents, churches, and businesses to close a remaining $360,000 funding gap. The center will offer an accessible gym, exercise and multi-purpose rooms, and space for therapies, with leaders hoping to open by early fall and eventually welcome both people with disabilities and the broader community. 
• Marion County sex offender charged after juvenile discloses incidents of sexual assault (wtrf.com) — Law enforcement in Fairmont and Marion County have charged a registered sex offender after a juvenile reported past sexual assaults, according to a criminal complaint. State Police say the disclosure came through the Marion County Child Advocacy Center, and the accused Fairmont resident is now being held at North Central Regional Jail on bond while the case proceeds.
• Lincoln leads the way with 7 All-Big 10 selections (wvnews.com) — Big 10 softball honors brought recognition back to Fairmont, with East Fairmont landing three players on the second team and Fairmont Senior’s Kylo Dodd earning first-team status. Lincoln led all schools with seven selections, while several other conference teams, including Buckhannon-Upshur, Robert C. Byrd, Grafton, Lewis County, Elkins, Preston and North Marion, also placed standout athletes on the all-conference lists.
