• Marshall University Board of Governors approves property purchase, Metro Tuition expansion (wvmetronews.com) — Marshall University is moving ahead with a new Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and Community Health Institute on Northcott Court and Hal Greer Boulevard in Huntington, backed by state and federal funding. The Board of Governors also approved expanding Metro Tuition, eventually offering discounted rates to students within 150 miles of Huntington and from all states bordering West Virginia.

• Marshall University Board of Governors approves site acquisition for new School of Medicine facility (marshall.edu) — Marshall University is moving ahead with a new home for its Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, buying nearly four acres along Northcott Court and Hal Greer Boulevard in Huntington for $3.5 million. The future facility will centralize medical education, research, and a community clinic, serving hundreds of students and residents once construction begins in 2027.

• Huntington woman dies after being hit by a car on I-64 in Cabell County (wchstv.com) — A woman from Huntington has died after being struck by a vehicle on I-64 west near mile marker 14 in Cabell County, despite CPR efforts at the scene and at St. Mary’s Medical Center. State Police say the Kentucky driver stayed and helped until EMS arrived, and the investigation into the Wednesday evening crash is still ongoing.
