Circus Saints And Sinners Pledge $100K Donation To WVU Medicine Children's Center in Wheeling (theintelligencer.net) ā A major local fundraiser is helping bring specialized pediatric care directly to Wheeling, as the Circus Saints and Sinners pledged $100,000 toward the new WVU Medicine Golisano Childrenās Center at Wheeling Hospital. Their annual Party on the Plaza music festival, next set for July 11 in Wheeling, will fund the pledge and keep more families from traveling to Morgantown for treatment.

WVU Medicine Center for Nursing Education announced for Wheeling Campus (wtrf.com) ā Wheeling is getting a new WVU Medicine Center for Nursing Education campus, offering a 21āmonth RN diploma program with full tuition, books, uniforms, and computers covered in exchange for a threeāyear work commitment. The 15,000āsquareāfoot facility at Wheeling Hospital will feature highātech labs, a wellness center, and student amenities, aiming to fill roughly 500 open nursing positions and strengthen local healthcare.

Federal bill would ban commercial greyhound racing, threatening West Virginia tracks (wtov9.com) ā A federal proposal to ban commercial greyhound racing could shut down Wheelingās dog track and cut key revenue for law-enforcement pensions and retiree health benefits in the Wheeling area. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito says sheās talking with city leaders and studying how deeply the change could hit local workers and the broader Ohio County community.
