• Altoona's Skinner continues to progress with runner-up state finish (leadertelegram.com) — Altoona junior golfer Elliot Skinner just capped a standout season by finishing runner-up at the Division 2 boys state golf championships in Madison, improving on last year’s sixth-place result. Backed by coaching from his dad at UW–Eau Claire, Skinner has added distance and consistency, is drawing college interest, and hopes to return next year with the entire Altoona team.
   

• Town hall hosted on manufactured home affordability concerns (news8000.com) — Manufactured home residents in Altoona just had a chance to share affordability worries directly with State Senator Jeff Smith at a local town hall. Smith called these parks one of the last affordable options, heard stories about rising rents and insecurity, and pledged to reintroduce legislation to strengthen tenant rights, improve affordability, and help residents buy their communities.
