Elmbrook School District Speed Skaters Shine at Nationals
Elmbrook School Students Claimed Two National Champions, One Silver Medalist and One 7th Place finisher
From March 24th, 2023 - March 26th, 2023, four Elmbrook School District speed skaters competed at the 2023 US Short Track Speedskating Age Group National Championships held in the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This year's Age Group Short Track National Championships featured 116 speed skaters from 33 different speedskating clubs nationwide who showcased their racing strategy and battled across three days of racing for points and podium positions.
The competition was open to all qualified speed skaters aged 11 years and older and was grouped by age divisions. It also served as the final event for all these skaters for the 2022-2023 US Speedskating season.

Attached below are the excellent performances of all the Elmbrook speed skaters from the competition:
- Aaron Liu (BCHS' 23): National Champion for Junior A & Open Men's Division (17-29 yrs old) as part of the Pettit National Ice Center Junior Short Track Speedskating Program
- Aidan Liu (BCHS' 26): National Champion for Junior C Men's Division (13-14 yrs old) as part of the Pettit National Ice Center Junior Short Track Speedskating Program
- Andrea Cao (BEHS' 25): 2nd Place for Junior B Women's (15-16 yrs old) as part of the Pettit National Ice Center Junior Short Track Speedskating Program
- Olivia Guo (PPMS 7th Grader): 7th Place for Junior D Women's (11-12 yrs old) Division as part of the Pinnacle Speedskating Program
