Alongside a much larger aquatic-deterrent project based in Illinois, these awards highlight how Wisconsin shipyards and contractors are drawing major defense dollars and long-term industrial jobs to the region. 
• Navy Awards Marinette Marine $30 million Contract toward Medium Landing Ships (seapowermagazine.org) — De Pere is slated to handle 39% of the work on a new $30 million Navy contract for medium landing ships, with the rest in Marinette and Louisiana. The project, tied to a planned 35‑ship fleet, could mean steady shipyard activity and skilled jobs in De Pere through at least late 2027.
• Central Wisconsin high school sports roundup (wsaw.com) — De Pere Central’s girls lacrosse team made an early push but ultimately fell 16-14 to Central Wisconsin in a high-scoring matchup at Wausau East. The De Pere squad struck first before Central Wisconsin surged ahead and held on late, while D.C. Everest also notched a separate softball win over Wausau West.
