1. Bulky waste lottery open to 50 Fond du Lac residents (kfiz.com) — Fond du Lac residents who get city garbage pickup can now enter a free lottery for curbside bulky waste collection happening in late April. Only 50 households will be selected, and winners can set out one large item or up to five bags, with small fees only for freon items and tires. Sign-up is online through the city’s website.
   

2. Prisoner rights group sues Fond du Lac County Jail (wbay.com) — Fond du Lac County Jail is facing a new federal lawsuit over its mail and publication rules, including a ban on most secular books and magazines. A prisoner-rights nonprofit claims the policy and alleged censorship violate inmates’ First Amendment, Establishment Clause, and due process rights, while the sheriff’s office says it won’t comment on pending litigation.
   

3. Man gets prison time for Fond du Lac shooting (fox11online.com) — A 53-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison plus 10 years of extended supervision for a 2024 shooting in a Fond du Lac business parking lot on N. Main Street. Jurors convicted him on 11 counts, including first-degree reckless injury, after video showed a struggle over a gun that left one person shot, and the district attorney says the sentence is meant to deter future gun violence.
   

4. 4-17-26 dock spiders and tds partner with 'you've been ticketed' program (radioplusinfo.com) — Fond du Lac kids spotted doing the right thing this year could be rewarded with free Dock Spiders tickets, thanks to a new partnership between the police department and TDS. Officers will hand out vouchers to youth seen biking safely, following pedestrian rules, or helping neighbors, giving families flexible options to attend any 2026 regular-season home game.
