Work poised to start soon on new Green Bay Metro Fire HQ, housing site (greenbaypressgazette.com) — Green Bay is moving ahead with a $32 million plan to build a new Metro Fire headquarters and 85 affordable apartments on the former Badger Sheet Metal site on South Broadway. City committees just backed borrowing up to $15 million and expanding incentives so construction on Fire Station Flats can start within 30 days, restoring central fire coverage and adding new community space by 2028.

Tundra Tales Program incentivizes young Packers fans to read more (nbc26.com) — Green Bay families with 4K–5th graders can sign up soon for the Packers' Tundra Tales reading challenge, which rewards 240 minutes of out-of-school reading with Hall of Fame tickets. Local teachers can also earn classroom grants if enough students participate, helping boost post-COVID literacy while tapping into kids' love of the Packers.

3. Green Bay brewery adds Fox Valley Strong beer to aid tornado victims (wearegreenbay.com) — Stillmank Brewing in Green Bay will tap its Fox Valley Strong pale ale on September 10, with proceeds helping victims of the July 27 tornado. Eight Fox Valley brewers collaborated on the beer, aiming to raise more than $10,000 so northeastern Wisconsin neighbors can support storm-damaged communities by simply stopping in for a pint.

4. Green Bay Botanical Garden closes Music in Bloom series Sept. 11 (wbay.com) — Green Bay Botanical Garden is wrapping up its Music in Bloom series on September 11 with the Brews, Bistros & Bonfires event featuring Homegrown, a Zac Brown Band tribute. Local guests can enjoy live music, food trucks, bonfires, beverage sampling, and vendors, with optional pre-ordered boxed dinners and full details available through the garden's website.

5. Green Bay demo tests device to stop drunk driving (wearegreenbay.com) — A new ignition interlock device was demonstrated in Green Bay on September 8, giving local residents and officials a hands-on look at technology meant to stop drunk driving before it starts. Lawmakers, MADD, and law enforcement highlighted how cameras and breath tests could prevent impaired drivers from even starting their cars, addressing Wisconsin's high rate of alcohol-related crashes.
