The case, which involved a fatal shooting during a marijuana transaction, has now seen three suspects sentenced, bringing some closure to the victim's family and underscoring the risks of local drug-related violence.
   

2. Updated Bay Beach plan eliminates wildlife viewing platform, expands shoreline trail (fox11online.com) — Green Bay is redirecting a $2.4 million federal grant at Bay Beach Amusement Park from a costly wildlife viewing platform to a much longer public shoreline trail. If city committees and the council approve the updated plan, residents could soon enjoy a 3,700-foot waterfront walk, though a swimming beach and viewing platform are now unlikely due to high construction costs.

Green Bay legalizes picking produce from public spaces (wbay.com) — Green Bay residents can now legally pick fruits, nuts, and other edible plants from designated public parks and trails under a new city ordinance. Two more Wisconsin counties suspend use of Flock cameras over data privacy concerns (wearegreenbay.com) — Green Bay residents should know that, while several Wisconsin counties are suspending their Flock license plate cameras over data privacy concerns, the Green Bay Police Department is still using its installed system. Other departments in Oshkosh, Marinette, Sheboygan, Winnebago County, and Fond du Lac County are backing away after learning investigative search data was accessible nationwide, raising questions about how local police protect sensitive information.
   

5. Local doctor sees more e-bike related injuries (wbay.com) — A Green Bay orthopedic surgeon says she's treating more local patients for serious e-bike injuries, especially wrist, shoulder, and other fractures linked to higher speeds. Drawing on national data and her clinic experience, she urges riders here to wear helmets, treat e-bikes like regular bikes, and use pedal assist mainly for hills rather than pushing for extra speed.
