(jsonline.com) — A Greenfield homeowner describes losing money to a Brookfield contractor she says never finished her kitchen paint job, part of a wider pattern of alleged unfinished work across Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Her case led to a misdemeanor conviction and restitution order, and she's now urging other Greenfield and area residents to be cautious and report similar problems to authorities.
   

• Milwaukee MCTS budget gap, route cuts possible; blind riders concerned (fox6now.com) — A Greenfield man who is visually impaired fears possible Milwaukee County Transit System route cuts could make it much harder for him to reach work and essential services. MCTS faces a $15 million budget gap and is gathering public feedback on two service concepts through Oct. 26, while advocates for blind riders warn proposed changes could severely limit access to key workplaces and facilities.
