📰 News we're reading

• Wisconsin driver arrested after unidentified man found dead in roadway (fox9.com) — A man was found dead early Sunday on County Highway N in Hudson Township, and a 20-year-old woman has been arrested after authorities say vehicle evidence led them to a New Richmond residence. St. Croix County investigators are still piecing together why the victim was in the roadway, in what is now the county's fourth traffic fatality this year.

• Twin Cities Marathon pacers do the math, carry the flag and help runners reach their goals (mprnews.org) — Hudson runner Kelsey Uribe helped lead a four-hour, 15-minute pace group at Sunday's Twin Cities Marathon, focusing less on her own time and more on keeping others motivated and on schedule. She and other volunteer pacers carefully manage mile splits, carry pace flags, and offer encouragement so runners can hit personal goals they've trained toward for months.

• River Falls is first public school district in Wisconsin to partner on food waste digester project, officials say (hudsonstarobserver.com) — Hudson school food service leaders are already in talks with River Falls about a new food-waste-to-energy program that turns cafeteria scraps into renewable natural gas at a Pierce County dairy farm. The effort, now active in three River Falls schools, could offer a model for Hudson if the district joins in, with potential environmental and economic benefits for the region.
