• Development updates: College Park gains momentum as Oxbow, River Crossing continue at slower pace (gazettextra.com) — Affordable housing in nearby Watertown is expanding, with Habitat for Humanity’s College Park project underway and backed by county and federal funding that could benefit Jefferson County workers. Two larger developments, The Oxbow and River Crossing, are progressing more slowly as planners sort out complex approvals involving both Dodge and Jefferson counties.
   

• More severe weather expected Friday in southeast Wisconsin (wisn.com) — Expect strong thunderstorms to reach Jefferson County and other western counties after 5 p.m. today, with the highest severe risk in western Jefferson and Dodge counties, including potential tornadoes, hail, damaging winds, and more flooding. A flood watch covers all of southeastern Wisconsin, but calmer, drier weather is forecast for the weekend and beyond.
   

• Rock County Sheriff Awards presented (gazettextra.com) — Rock County deputies and citizens were honored for lifesaving work that repeatedly brought them into Jefferson County, including dramatic ice and boating rescues on Lake Koshkonong. Several incidents involved severely injured or hypothermic victims who survived thanks to quick action, tourniquets, and coordinated responses with Jefferson County agencies. The ceremony also recognized broader investigative and jail-improvement efforts that affect regional safety.
