Appeals court upholds man's convictions in 2018 Manitowoc father-daughter killings (wtaq.com) — An appeals court has upheld the convictions of Karl Hess for the 2018 killings of Richard and Jocelyn Miller in Manitowoc, leaving his life sentences in place. Judges rejected arguments that his confession should have been suppressed and that his attorney’s handling of those statements harmed his defense.
