• Local Event: Ladies Night - A Stars Hollow Inspired Evening (patch.com) — Downtown Menomonee Falls is hosting a Stars Hollow–themed Ladies Night on September 10 from 4–8 p.m., starting at the waterfall in Mill Pond Park Plaza. You can grab a visitor guide, enjoy live music, themed food and drinks, special shop deals, photo ops in the Mill Pond gazebo, and even a spot for the guys at local bars. 
• Judge rules state law governing fine collection unconstitutional (gmtoday.com) — A Menomonee Falls resident successfully challenged a recent state budget change that let Milwaukee County keep all certain fine revenues instead of sharing them with Wisconsin's common school fund. A Waukesha County judge ruled the change unconstitutional and reverted the law, potentially restoring millions in school library funding statewide while leaving open whether Milwaukee must repay money already collected.
