• Merrill Man Charged with Animal Neglect Reaches Plea Agreement (wjjq.com) — A Merrill resident has been sentenced in Lincoln County Court after pleading guilty to four counts of animal mistreatment causing death, reduced from nearly 50 original charges. The 35-year-old man received 32 days in jail with work-release privileges, three years of probation, and a strict ban on owning or caring for any animals going forward.

• Celebrate June Dairy Month with breakfast on the farm (waow.com) — Merrill families can dig into pancakes and local maple syrup at the Lincoln County June Dairy Breakfast on June 14 at the Merrill Area Recreation Complex. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon and is part of a wider slate of June Dairy Month breakfasts happening across north central Wisconsin, many featuring live music, kids’ activities, and plenty of dairy treats.
