Here’s How Much Wisconsin Residents Make: New Ranking

WISCONSIN — Wisconsin ranked near the middle of the country in a new WalletHub report on states where people have the highest incomes.

Wisconsin ranked No. 30 overall in WalletHub’s 2026 list.

The ranking adjusted income for cost of living and compared states across three categories: average income for the top 5 percent, median annual household income, and average income for the bottom 20 percent.

Wisconsin earned an overall score of 37.15 in the ranking.

WalletHub listed Wisconsin’s cost-of-living-adjusted median annual household income at $77,706.

The state’s top 5 percent had an average income of $426,384, while the bottom 20 percent had an average income of $18,831, according to WalletHub.
