Milwaukee Forecast: Sunny Labor Day Gives Way To Midweek Storms

MILWAUKEE, WI — The National Weather Service is calling for a mostly sunny Labor Day across the Milwaukee area, with a high near 76 degrees and southeast winds between 5 and 10 mph.

Monday night stays mild and partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

Tuesday brings warmer air, with highs near 80 under partly sunny skies. That warmup does not last without a catch. Forecasters say there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday evening, rising to a 90 percent chance of showers and possible thunderstorms overnight into early Wednesday. New rainfall totals of a quarter to a half inch are expected.

Wednesday carries a 30 percent chance of lingering showers and storms before 1 p.m., with a high near 82 and partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Skies clear out Wednesday night, with a low around 61.

Thursday brings a return to sunshine and a high near 75. Friday looks like the best day of the stretch, with sunny skies and a high near 77.

Rain chances climb again over the weekend, with a 20 percent chance of showers Friday night and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday into Sunday. Highs stay in the high 70s through the weekend.
