4. Cultural displays and booths take shape for Mexican Fiesta (jsonline.com) — Mexican Fiesta 2026 is transforming Milwaukee's Henry Maier Festival Park this weekend, with vendors, artisans, and volunteers racing to finish colorful cultural displays before gates open today. From hand-crocheted shade canopies to mojigangas and genealogy exhibits, the three-day lakefront celebration is taking shape and ready to welcome crowds. Expect plenty of Mexican art, food, and music along Milwaukee's shoreline.
   

5. K-9 Ryker regaining mobility weeks after Milwaukee County crash (wisn.com) — A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy and his K-9 partner Ryker are steadily recovering after a crash last month on I-94 near Drexel Road. Deputy Samuel Mindel has been cleared to return to full duty, while Ryker, who suffered spinal injuries and temporary paralysis, is slowly regaining mobility and could be back on the job in about six months. Their progress was shared at Veterans Park in Milwaukee.
