• Judge dismisses lawsuit challenging Port Washington data center TID (wpr.org) — A judge has dismissed the lawsuit challenging Port Washington's TID No. 5, which helps fund infrastructure for the massive $15 billion data center now under construction in the city. While the ruling is a win for City Hall and Vantage Data Centers, local group Great Lakes Neighbors United is vowing further action, and a separate lawsuit over a voter-approved referendum on future TIDs is still pending.
   

• Wisconsin governor's race tackles AI guardrails and data centers (tmj4.com) — Port Washington's planned AI data center is now a central talking point in Wisconsin's governor's race, as candidates Tom Tiffany and David Crowley debate how tightly to regulate such projects. Both say AI needs guardrails, but they differ on data center expansion, privacy protections, and whether the state should court more facilities like the one slated for Port Washington.
   

• Peregrine falcons tracked over thousands of miles of travel thanks to new transmitters (wisconsinpublicservice.com) — One of the tracked peregrine falcons was born right in Port Washington before flying thousands of miles across the Midwest and into Michigan. Researchers are using new transmitters on these and other Wisconsin-born birds to better understand their migration patterns and help support the species' recovery statewide.
