• Benner Beats Hunger expands to 10 sites across Racine County this summer (racinecountyeye.com) — Families in Racine can get free weekday meals for kids—and in many cases adults—this summer through the expanded Benner Beats Hunger program at 10 sites across Racine County. Run with Racine Unified and local partners, the effort expects to serve up to 50,000 meals and is seeking donations, which will be matched by the Dominican Sisters, to cover food for caregivers on fixed incomes.
   

• Financial Counseling Center in Racine to Close After a Successful 5-Year Run (wgtd.org) — A free Financial Empowerment Center serving City of Racine residents will close June 30 after five years, following the end of federal COVID relief funding. City leaders say the program helped hundreds reduce debt and build savings, and are now backing a new “Rehabbed and Ready” initiative offering up to $25,000 to fix up vacant or rundown homes for owner-occupants.
   

• Patricia Ann Heinrichs, 89, of Racine (racinecountyeye.com) — Racine is mourning the passing of 89-year-old Patricia Ann Heinrichs, a lifelong resident whose faith and family were at the center of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Erie Street, with visitation an hour before and entombment at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum.
