2. Lightning strike sparks water heater fire in Oneida County home (wxpr.org) — Fire crews from Pine Lake and other Oneida County agencies responded Wednesday morning after lightning sparked a water-heater fire at a home on Highway 17, about five miles north of Rhinelander. The homeowner largely knocked down the flames before firefighters arrived, who then fully extinguished hot spots and checked for further damage, preventing the situation from escalating.
