• Blugold softball team earns WIAC sweep at RIver Falls (leadertelegram.com) — UW-Eau Claire’s softball team came to UW–River Falls on Wednesday and swept a WIAC doubleheader, winning 5-3 and 6-0 on the Falcons’ home field. Strong pitching from Claire Beck, Lauren Trottier, and Kasey Felden, plus big bats from Paige Lathrop and Siri Springer, powered the Blugolds before they head to UW–Platteville this weekend.

Krause, a beloved teacher, farmer, school bus driver, and avid chess player who passed away April 13 at age 89. Raised near Maiden Rock and deeply involved in family, church, and community life, he is survived by his wife Millie, three children, five grandsons, and four great-grandsons, with services set for April 25 in Ellsworth.
