1. WE Energies Temporarily Disconnecting Natural Gas Service Amid Flooding in Waupaca County (tchdailynews.com) — Natural gas service has been temporarily shut off to about 400 WE Energies customers in and around Shiocton as rising floodwaters create serious safety risks. Crews are monitoring conditions and will only restore service once waters recede and it’s safe. Residents are urged to avoid flooded areas, stay alert, and follow all safety instructions as updates continue. 
2. Flood ravaged communities prepare for things to get worse (wearegreenbay.com) — Severe flooding is closing in on Shiocton homes and businesses, with residents sandbagging and officials urging people to obey evacuation orders before roads become impassable. Access in and out of the village may be cut off soon, while nearby New London also battles rising Wolf River waters and road closures.
3. Police limit village entry as Wolf River rises (nbc26.com) — Shiocton is under an evacuation order today as the Wolf River rises, with State Patrol limiting non-emergency entry and nearly every village street affected by flooding. Gas has been shut off, power remains on for now, and police are patrolling to protect homes while evacuated residents are directed to Red Cross shelters in New London and Black Creek.
4. Heavy floodwaters cause an unprecedented sturgeon spawning season (wtaq.com) — Record-high Wolf River flooding in Shiocton is pushing spawning sturgeon into nearby parking lots and closing the popular Bamboo Bend viewing area for safety. DNR biologists say the fish should be fine and will return to the river as waters recede, though visitors are being asked to stay away this season.
