1. Second annual S.O.S. Food Fight Drive kicks off in Sun Prairie (gazettextra.com) — Sunshine Pantry at Sunshine Place has kicked off its second annual S.O.S. Food Fight Drive, inviting Sun Prairie businesses and residents to collect food and personal care items through July 9. Community members can donate at participating businesses or give money credited at $3 per pound, helping restock the pantry during a time when donations typically drop but need remains high.

Dane County community mourns the death of Michael Johnson (gazettextra.com) — Sun Prairie residents are mourning Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson, whose leadership helped create the Sun Prairie McKenzie Club and strengthen local youth programs. Community leaders, including Sun Prairie’s mayor, are sharing tributes, and the June 27 All-White Party will now double as a celebration of his legacy and continued support for area kids.

Union Grove softball suffers state quarterfinal loss to Sun Prairie East (journaltimes.com) — Sun Prairie East’s softball team advanced past Union Grove in Thursday’s Division 1 state quarterfinal in Madison, riding strong pitching and defense in a tight game. The matchup capped Union Grove’s postseason run and keeps Sun Prairie East in the hunt for a state title.

Dane County Sheriff's Office covers Flock cameras, looks toward finding new provider (hngnews.com) — Sun Prairie residents should know Dane County has ended its contract with Flock Safety license-plate cameras, and local cameras have been covered while officials seek a new provider. The Sheriff and several nearby cities are weighing alternative systems amid privacy concerns and questions about data sharing with federal agencies.
