Council narrowly approves new development (veronapress.com) — Verona’s Common Council has narrowly approved multi-family housing on 15 acres east of Blue Ice Pass and west of County Highway M, with Mayor Luke Diaz breaking a 4–4 tie. Supporters say the project is vital for future growth and more attainable housing, while opponents prefer single-family homes and question its impact on affordability. The council meets next on June 22.

2. Verona schedules additional brush pickup after recent storm (thesconi.com) — Verona residents should have storm debris at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, June 15, as the city runs an extra brush pickup along normal routes. Crews will make only one pass through each neighborhood, with size limits on branches and no collection of contractor-cut brush, while the Range Trail drop-off site remains open daily for self-hauling.

UW–Madison Agricultural Research Station Field Days for 2026 (morningagclips.com) — Two of UW–Madison’s 2026 summer agricultural field days will take place at Verona addresses, including a turfgrass event on Pleasant View Road and a commercial growers day on Mineral Point Road. Dane County Sheriff's Office covers Flock cameras, looks toward finding new provider (gazettextra.com) — Dane County has covered its Flock automated license plate reader cameras after letting its contract expire and is now exploring new vendors that promise stronger privacy protections. Verona is among several Wisconsin cities that have already ended or chosen not to renew their Flock agreements, as local officials weigh public safety benefits against surveillance and data-sharing concerns. Future coordination on a shared replacement system remains unclear.
