📰 News we're reading
• Former library director opening new chapter (gazettextra.com) — Watertown residents are saying thank you to longtime Public Library Director Peg Checkai, who retired July 6 after leading the library’s major renovation and expansion. Checkai reflects on starting as a part-time assistant in 1996, helping add study rooms, teen space, and better access, and building partnerships like the Storybook Trail and Garden Tales market. She now plans to travel Wisconsin, visit libraries, and enjoy time with family and friends.
