Laramie County to launch new online mapping and property search site (wyomingnews.com) — If you rely on Laramie County's online maps or property lookups in Cheyenne, be ready for a change on Monday, Sept. 21, when the Assessor's Office switches to the new Beacon platform. Residents will get free, easier searches for ownership, assessments, sales history and tax estimates, but must update any bookmarks to the old mapping site.

3. Texas man sentenced to 20–25 years for breaking into Cheyenne woman's home, terrorizing her with knife (oilcity.news) — A Texas man has been sentenced to 20–25 years in prison for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's Cheyenne home, choking her, and threatening her with a knife. Cheyenne police say the woman's quick call to her sister helped detain him until officers arrived, and several serious felony charges led to his lengthy sentence, while a sexual assault charge was dropped in a plea deal.

4. LCCC adopts Wyoming State College name, despite calls to postpone (wyomingnews.com) — Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne has officially voted to rename itself Wyoming State College, with the change taking effect July 1, 2027. Despite pushback from other community colleges worried about confusion and status, trustees unanimously backed the shift, and campus leaders now face a costly rebranding effort while promising to keep serving Cheyenne and its designated communities as part of the state system.

5. Free disposal day scheduled for Ward I, III residents (capcity.news) — Cheyenne residents in Wards I and III can dump household waste for free at the city's Sanitation Division Transfer Station on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19, during specified morning hours. You'll need ID, must self-unload, and certain heavy or hazardous items aren't accepted, though electronics and household hazardous waste remain free year-round.
