⢠āSomething that we can do right now': Lander budget for 2026-2027 includes $25K for Bruce Gresly Aquatic Center (county10.com) ā Landerās newly approved 2026-2027 city budget sets aside $25,000 from the maintenance fund to help keep the Bruce Gresly Aquatic Center operating while long-term funding options are debated. City leaders note the pool now faces cuts after state school funding changes, even though itās used mostly by the broader community. Expect more discussion and an update from the mayor later this month.

⢠Lib. board on notice: Board tangles with public notice gaffe (rivertonranger.com) ā Fremont County Library Boardās handling of a controversial material acquisitions policy is drawing scrutiny after a rushed special meeting, unclear public notice, and a comment period that began before most residents could see the draft. With the Lander Library treated as the systemās main hub, questions about transparency, legal review, and how public input is gathered could affect how Lander patrons engage with future policy changes.

⢠Lummis Still Backs 'Trump Interstate' Despite Texas Sponsor Losing Interest In It (cowboystatedaily.com) ā Lander sits directly on the U.S. 287 corridor that could someday become āInterstate 47,ā a proposed route honoring former President Donald Trump. Although Texas Sen. John Cornyn now says the bill is no longer a top priority after his primary loss, Wyoming Sen. Cynthia Lummis still backs the plan, which could eventually reshape freight traffic and federal investment through Lander and nearby towns.
