📰 News we're reading

1. Dustin Carl Moeller (kbhbradio.com) — Sundance is mourning the passing of 46-year-old resident Dustin Carl Moeller, a 1998 Sundance High School graduate known for his hard work and love of the outdoors. Family and friends can honor him at a Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 19, from 1–4 p.m. at the Central Office Gym in Sundance. He is remembered for his dedication to work, family, and adventure.

2. Old Stoney to get accessible parking spot (sundancetimes.com) — Downtown Sundance is set to get a new handicap-accessible parking space between Old Stoney and Sundance Square after city officials and the museum district agreed to share costs. With the curb and ramp already compliant, the project mainly needs paint, signage, and quick coordination between city staff, the county facilities manager, and WYDOT.

3. Tree debate comes to abrupt end (sundancetimes.com) — Dead trees outside the Sundance courthouse were finally removed after a tense exchange between a county commissioner and the mayor over who is responsible for replacing them. The long-running dispute centered on maintenance obligations tied to a WYDOT beautification agreement and how any replacement should look and function. County staff took the trees out the morning after the heated work session.

4. Burn restrictions imposed within city limits (sundancetimes.com) — Sundance residents now face tighter fire rules after the City Council extended county burn restrictions inside city limits due to severe fire danger and persistent winds. Outdoor fires, fireworks, and many open-flame activities are limited or banned, with specific rules for campfires, trash burning, grills, and equipment like welders and cutting torches.
