• KultureCity unveils plans for National Accessibility Park in Birmingham (abc3340.com) — Plans are underway for a first-of-its-kind National Accessibility Park at the historic Powell Steam Plant in downtown Birmingham, bringing a disability learning center, technical college, museum and sensory-friendly park space to the city. The project aims to guide families after diagnoses, create workforce pathways, and offer inclusive gathering areas like playgrounds, splash pads and an amphitheater, all designed to strengthen Birmingham's accessibility and community life.

Mayor Randall Woodfin joined staff and families to celebrate how early shared reading supports development, strengthens parent-infant bonding, and helps some of the city's most vulnerable newborns build stronger language and reading skills from birth.
