• UAB students honored by NASA Alabama Space Grant Consortium (uab.edu) — Two Hoover residents studying at UAB have earned prestigious NASA Alabama Space Grant honors, one as an undergraduate teacher-education scholar and another as a biomedical engineering graduate fellow. Their awards support tuition, research at NASA centers, and future STEM and teaching careers, showcasing high-achieving talent emerging from Hoover. 
• Alabama Sees Continued Job Growth and Rising Wages in July Economic Data - Alabama Department of Labor (alabama.gov) — Alabama's latest jobs report shows continued employment growth and rising wages, with construction and manufacturing hitting record weekly pay. Hoover is among the major cities posting some of the state's lowest unemployment rates, giving local workers a relatively strong position in the current job market compared with other Alabama communities.
• 2026-27 Cheer Roster - Ole Miss Athletics (olemisssports.com) — One member of the 2026-27 Ole Miss cheer squad hails from Hoover giving local fans a direct hometown connection to the SEC sidelines this year. The roster lists athletes' class years and hometowns across the Southeast, including Hoover among many regional communities.
