1. Mobile launches new map for finding parking lots and garages (wkrg.com) — Driving or visiting downtown Mobile just got easier thanks to a new city-created interactive parking map that shows about 2,000 on-street spaces, seven garages, and 57 public lots inside the Hank Aaron Loop. You can quickly see metered versus free spaces, EV chargers, and restricted zones, then zoom into a specific radius from where you're headed, all from a web or mobile version.
   

2. Diesel prices climb to record levels in Mobile, Baldwin counties (fox10tv.com) — Diesel prices in Mobile County are hovering around $5.97 a gallon, putting a serious squeeze on commuters and trucking companies that keep local shelves stocked. Drivers report paying over $100 to fill up, while transportation firms warn that higher fuel costs will eventually show up in what Mobile residents pay for everyday goods.
   

3. New recruits begin training at Mobile Fire-Rescue academy (dailydispatch.com) — Mobile Fire-Rescue's newest class of 29 recruits has started intensive academy training, building on weeks of EMT coursework to learn firefighting essentials from history and hazmat to rapid intervention. The Mobile facility also trains firefighters from nearby departments like Spanish Fort, Daphne, and Prichard, strengthening emergency response across the region.
   

4. Fast Start Fuels Lady Crusaders in 7-0 Win (hubcityspokes.com) — William Carey's women's soccer team is heading to Mobile on Thursday, Sept. 17, to face the University of Mobile after a dominant 7-0 win over Thomas University. Local fans can catch the Lady Crusaders in action at 5 p.m., with several players coming off multi-goal and multi-assist performances that could make this home matchup especially exciting.
