• Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest now open for 2027 entries (256today.com) — Pelham residents can catch the 2026 Outdoor Alabama Photo Contest exhibit at Oak Mountain State Park's Interpretive Center through September 16, with free admission. The state is also now accepting amateur entries for the 2027 contest through October 30, emphasizing traditional camera photography and offering multiple nature-themed categories for all ages, including a special Young Photographers division. 
• Alabama Rising Stars Games: Positional Player Reports (prepbaseballreport.com) — A Pelham-based prospect, Redick Shell, was among dozens of 2031–2032 players evaluated at the inaugural Alabama Rising Stars Games in Northport, where athletes went through pro-style workouts and live gameplay. Detailed scouting notes highlight Shell's developing power, smooth infield actions, and footwork, alongside measurements and evaluations for peers from schools across Alabama.
