The funding will help BBCF expand programs, fundraising, and direct food support as local food banks and families face high costs and increased demand.

Alabama sets execution date for man convicted in 1998 double murder (fox10tv.com) — State officials have set a June 11–12 execution window for Jeffrey Lee, convicted in a 1998 Dallas County double murder, according to coverage that cites the Selma Times‑Journal. Jurors once recommended life without parole, but a judge imposed death, and appeals courts later upheld that sentence, which will now be carried out by nitrogen hypoxia.

Sony Pictures Lands ‘An Unfinished Love Story,' Sets ‘The Holdover's David Hemingson To Script Love Story Of Doris Kearns Goodwin & Richard Goodwin In Backdrop Of Turbulent ‘60s (deadline.com) — Selma’s Edmund Pettus Bridge and the brutal 1965 attacks on peaceful marchers are a key backdrop in a new film adaptation of Doris Kearns Goodwin’s memoir, An Unfinished Love Story. Sony Pictures has tapped Oscar-nominated writer David Hemingson to script the love story between Goodwin and her late husband, set amid the civil rights movement and other defining moments of the 1960s.
