Easterseals Of West Alabama Names Dusty Wilder Executive Director

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Dusty Wilder has been named the new executive director of Easterseals of West Alabama after serving in the role on an interim basis for the past five months.

Wilder has led the nonprofit through a period of transition since being appointed interim executive director, overseeing day-to-day operations while maintaining services for the individuals and families served by Easterseals across West Alabama.

Board Chairman Blake Burden said in a statement that Wilder's leadership during the transition made her the clear choice for the permanent position.

"Dusty has demonstrated exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and a deep commitment to our mission," Burden said. "She has gone above and beyond to ensure the continued success of our organization, earning the confidence and full support of the Board of Directors."

A member of the Easterseals of West Alabama team for 18 years, the nonprofit says Wilder has developed long-standing relationships with employees, community partners and the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.

The organization said Wilder has expanded workforce development programs, secured new grant funding, strengthened community partnerships, improved operational efficiency and maintained the nonprofit's standards for service and compliance while serving as interim executive director.

The board said leaders from Easterseals Alabama also supported Wilder's appointment, citing her efforts to improve staff morale, rebuild key partnerships and provide stability during the leadership transition.

"We are excited about the future of Easterseals of West Alabama under Dusty's leadership," Burden said. "Her experience, passion, and proven leadership make her the right person to continue advancing our mission and expanding our impact across West Alabama."
