Tuscaloosa Police Charge Man Accused Of Peeping Into Windows, Violating Sex Offender Law

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A 48-year-old man is behind bars after an investigation into reports of a suspicious person knocking on doors and tapping on windows led to additional charges.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department said that officers received a 911 call around 3 a.m. Sunday morning from residents reporting a suspicious man in the area.

Officers then located Garland Hall, 48, walking in the 700 block of 13th Street and arrested him on a charge of public intoxication.

Investigators with the department's Criminal Investigations Division later interviewed residents and gathered additional evidence as part of a follow-up investigation.

Investigators subsequently obtained warrants charging Hall with first-degree criminal surveillance, a misdemeanor, and a felony violation of the Community Notification Act for Sex Offenders. Hall was also charged with probation revocation.

TPD officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force located Hall in Greene County and took him into custody Thursday morning.

Hall was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond has not been set.
