• Driving in the dark: Hoover officials aim to fix interstate lighting woes (hooversun.com) — If you've been driving dark stretches of I-65 or I-459 near Vestavia Hills, city officials say aging infrastructure and tangled jurisdictional responsibilities are largely to blame. Vestavia leaders are working with Alabama Power and neighboring cities to map exactly which poles each city owns so they can coordinate repairs and improve nighttime safety for local commuters.
   

• Cahaba Heights Gateway Project Nears Completion of First Phase - Over the Mountain Journal (otmj.com) — Work on the first phase of the Cahaba Heights Gateway project in Vestavia Hills is nearly finished, bringing new landscaping, safer intersections, and a striking entrance sign along Pump House Road. Backed by the city and local merchants, the plan will eventually add sidewalks, better pedestrian access via Pipeline Road, and cohesive signage, aiming to create a more walkable, village-style district for residents and visitors.
   

• Vestavia Hills Spoils County High's Homecoming in 52-7 Win (tide1009.com) — Vestavia Hills' football team rolled to a 52-7 road win over Tuscaloosa County, improving to 5-1 behind a barrage of first-half touchdowns and big special teams plays. Local fans will recognize names like Luke Stubbs and Will Bochnak in the scoring summary, as the Rebels' balanced offense and aggressive defense kept the Wildcats winless heading into their next matchup.
