• Alabama state senator explains how new vaping law came to be (wbrc.com) — A statewide ban on vaping in public places, including restaurants and ballparks, was inspired by an encounter at a football game in West Blocton. Senator Gerald Allen says confronting a man vaping in the stands back in 2022 pushed him to strengthen Alabama’s smoke-free law. Governor Kay Ivey has now signed the measure, which takes effect October 1, 2026.
