Officials say the sealcoat can reduce pavement temperatures by up to 12 degrees and may help keep evening air slightly cooler, with more details available through the city's Cool Pavement Program. 
2. TimeDone launches first Phoenix chapter, connecting thousands with jobs, housing, and second-chance resources (abc15.com) — A new Phoenix chapter of TimeDone has launched with a packed community resource fair, connecting residents with housing, jobs, mental health, and reentry support. Local attendees shared how old criminal records still block stable work, housing, and even bank accounts, while organizers push for reforms like Ban the Box and expanded record clearance to help Phoenix neighbors rebuild their lives.
3. Man dead after domestic dispute shooting in Phoenix (ktar.com) — Phoenix police are investigating a deadly domestic dispute near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road, where 34-year-old Daniel Palmer was shot Tuesday afternoon and later died at the hospital. A woman identified as the shooter was detained, interviewed, and released as detectives continue gathering details about what led up to the gunfire.
4. Phoenix-area eateries cited for hand washing lapses, temperature violations (azfamily.com) — Health inspectors recently cited several Phoenix-area restaurants, including The Breakfast Club in downtown Phoenix, for multiple major food-safety violations. The Dirty Dining report highlights issues like handwashing lapses and temperature problems at locations in Phoenix, Laveen, Tempe, and Mesa, and directs residents to Maricopa County's site for full inspection details.
5. Arizona Lottery Powerball, The Pick results for Sept. 2, 2026 (azcentral.com) — Arizona Lottery players can now check the Sept. 2 Powerball and The Pick winning numbers, along with Fantasy 5 and Triple Twist results, and see if they've won. Phoenix residents who score prizes over $599 can claim them by mail using the Phoenix P.O. Box or in person at the University Drive or Sky Harbor lottery offices, which handle different prize levels.
