📰 News we're reading
• Flock cameras reportedly lead Prescott police to vet clinic shooting suspect (kpho.com) — Prescott police used Flock license-plate cameras to identify and arrest a suspect accused of firing more than a dozen shots into Harmony Veterinary Care near Sunset Avenue and Gail Gardner Way, causing over $10,000 in damage. No one was inside at the time, and officers say the Kirkland man admitted to the drive-by shooting after a SWAT team took him into custody.

• 3 people taken into custody for counterfeit bills and forgery (meigsindypress.com) — Two suspects tied to a string of alleged counterfeit-cash forgeries across the Verde Valley were booked into Yavapai County Jail in Prescott after a Cottonwood traffic stop uncovered fake IDs, suspected counterfeit bills, and a stolen vehicle. A third person was later arrested in Sedona with alleged forgery tools and suspected drugs, and the case has now drawn in the U.S. Secret Service for further investigation.

• Smith Ravine Trail (arizonahighways.com) — If you're looking for a nearby escape into cooler woods, this piece walks you through the Smith Ravine Trail in Prescott National Forest, just south of Lynx Lake off Walker Road. It explains the moderate elevation changes, standout trees and wildlife you might spot, and why taking your time on this hike rewards you with rich details rather than a single big viewpoint.
