1. Scottsdale picked a new trolley operator. Now it's in court (fresnobee.com) — Scottsdale's free trolley system is now being run by MTM Transit under a new multimillion‑dollar contract, while longtime operator Dunn Transit sues the city claiming the bidding process was unfair. Service continues on regular weekday routes as the legal fight plays out in Maricopa County Superior Court, with a judge already denying Dunn's request to temporarily keep its contract.
   

2. Firefighters rescue multiple hikers, dogs for heat exhaustion on Scottsdale trail (azfamily.com) — Multiple hikers and their dogs were rescued Saturday late morning on Scottsdale's Lost Dog Wash Trail after suffering heat exhaustion, prompting Scottsdale Fire to renew warnings about hiking safely in the McDowell Mountains. Crews also aided a man in his 60s earlier on the same trail, urging residents to start early, carry plenty of water, and know their limits in the heat.
   

3. Joshua Anastasi's GoFundMe Profile (gofundme.com) — A door-to-door salesperson was shot in the back while working in Scottsdale on September 13 and is now facing a long recovery, including time in the ICU and upcoming rehab to relearn walking. A GoFundMe campaign is raising money for his medical bills, therapy, and living expenses while he's unable to work, with organizers urging people to donate or share the fundraiser.
   

4. 4 enjoyable and utterly free fall arts occasions taking place in metro Phoenix (fooshya.com) — Scottsdale residents can enjoy several free fall arts events close to home, including a seven‑week live music series at Scottsdale Quarter and the Canal Convergence light and art experience along the Scottsdale Waterfront.
