Resource Hub (tucsonspotlight.org) — Tucson residents now have a bilingual Resource Hub that maps trusted local help for basics like food, health care, immigration support, civic participation, infrastructure issues, and education. Built from what locals said they struggle to find, it connects people across Tucson, South Tucson, and Southern Arizona with nearby organizations so they can get assistance or get involved close to home.
   

2. Annual Project Isaiah Food and Fund Drive Begins Sept. 4 (azjewishpost.com) — Tucson-area residents are being asked to support Project Isaiah, a High Holidays food and fund drive running Sept. 4 through Oct. 17 to benefit the Community Food Bank. With demand for food assistance up 22%, organizers list 15 local Jewish congregations and agencies as dropoff sites and explain how each pound of food or dollar donated translates directly into meals for Southern Arizonans.
   

3. Two dogs die in house fire near First, Prince in Tucson (kold.com) — Emergency crews responded to a house fire near North First Avenue and East Prince Road in Tucson, where one person was rescued and hospitalized but two dogs died. Tucson Fire Department crews contained the blaze in under 10 minutes, and investigators are still working to determine the cause while the station promotes ways residents can stream local news and submit photos.
   

4. City Week: Week of Aug. 27, 2026 (tucsonweekly.com) — Looking for something to do around Tucson? This City Week roundup highlights ongoing museum exhibits, Old Tucson's Summer Night Market, Desert Museum's Cool Summer Nights, and big September draws like Colors of the Stone, Tucson Fall Gem Shows, Tucson Comic-Con, and Sonoran Restaurant Week, plus nearby outings in Marana and Benson with exact dates, times, and prices.
   

5. Tucson garden lost beloved Gumby crested cactus. How he and others got their own fan club (azpm.org) — Tohono Chul in Tucson is mourning Gumby, a beloved crested saguaro that recently collapsed from disease after delighting visitors for decades.
